They are things we are. And we aren&#8217;t always all of those things\u2014or at least aware of those things\u2014at all times of our lives. So it can be confusing for well-meaning, loving people in our lives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, another quote from <em>George<\/em>: &#8220;Well, you can\u2019t control who your children are, but you can certainly support them, am I right?&#8221; And what if they&#8217;re not <em>your<\/em> children? What if they&#8217;re <em>God&#8217;s<\/em> children? Do you think that God would want us to support you, love you, even if someone else think&#8217;s you&#8217;re wrong? Then you know what a parent&#8217;s love means. And God&#8217;s love is so much more powerful, unimaginable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">One other thing&#8230;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While you&#8217;re at it, be patient with yourself; know you can grow. It&#8217;s hard to love someone in the way they need, but it&#8217;s important. We all do the best we can, given what our life has equipped us for&#8230; until we become more. We often <em>need<\/em> to be more. Because, in the words of Alex Gino in <em>George<\/em>, &#8220;Asexuality was definitely more complicated than kale.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>True story. Go in peace.
