The English word creed<\/strong> comes from the Latin credo<\/a><\/em>, which means “I believe.” What do you believe? Our members come from many faith traditions, with diverse beliefs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, at the core of most world religions is the same seed of love and respect that fuels our passion at Re:faith. Do you believe in the same ideals? Consider joining us<\/a> or following<\/a> us on social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Re:faith believes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I believe (I am here, in the image of and made by a loving Creator. My highest calling is to love and praise that Creator. To fulfill that calling,)* my great task is to love all of the Children of Creation. This is not a sterile, passive, love-the-sinner-hate-the-sin theoretical love. It’s real, messy, hard work. It’s caring for people in a way that makes their lives better. All our siblings deserve this love. It can’t\u2014and needn’t\u2014be earned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I commit myself, however imperfectly I am able, to these ideals: I aspire to kindness, humility, faith, hope, and love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I commit myself, however imperfectly I am able, to valuing the most vulnerable in our society… the voiceless, the powerless, the scorned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I commit myself, however imperfectly I am able, to mirroring the example of my (faith mentor\/s, who was\/were)** remarkable for mercy and humility, not for shunning the unworthy or being the best rule-follower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I commit myself, however imperfectly I am able, to learning and growing from others’ stories, by listening, reading, and challenging my assumptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I commit myself, however imperfectly I am able, to respecting others’ stories as their own to tell. I learn by asking questions, not by imposing my worldview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I commit myself, however imperfectly I am able, to respecting and preserving the world we occupy, which nurtures and provides for all Children of Creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
