Make yourself at home."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">We just don&#8217;t seem to get it<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We people of faith&#8211;Christians, Jews, Muslims, and others&#8211;just seem to keep turning away from the core of our belief systems: we have forgotten about acting with justice, grace, and mercy. Instead, we focus on getting what&#8217;s ours, swinging creed like a cudgel to <a href=\"https:\/\/vcresearch.berkeley.edu\/news\/crisis-faith-christian-nationalism-and-threat-us-democracy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">show others how wrong they are<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And some even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/magazine\/2023\/12\/01\/evangelicals-american-politics-tim-alberta-book-excerpt-00129319\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">swing the heft of political power<\/a> to force others to be like them&#8230; or pretend to be&#8230; or, even better, stay invisible. Did Jesus, Mohammad, Buddha, or other spiritual leaders act this way? Of course not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">It isn&#8217;t right<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>And all this tells us that we need to re:pent\u2014re:think how we are embodying our faith. We need to start over. We need to somehow <em>re:faith<\/em> to match how we interact with this world with our beliefs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Re:faith is a different kind of faith community.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Welcome. As a community, we are no less imperfect than other people of faith. But we refuse to back away from the radical challenge at the core of so many world beliefs: treating others with dignity and respect\u2014loving them and showing that we see and value them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At <a href=\"https:\/\/re-faith.org\" title=\"\">Re:faith<\/a>, we re:solve to do the hard thing and re:spectfully challenge the injustice around us.
